Ambler Savings Bank knows how difficult changing banks can be. We
understand the hassle of notifying vendors and employers about changing
banks. We are here to help you make the following three easy steps for you
to transfer your bank accounts to our hometown bank accounts.
Step 1. Open New Accounts
Your first step is to open your new Ambler Savings Bank account. Once
this account is in place, you have access to all of our benefits and other
accounts, including free checking and low-cost loans. Please complete the
Open New Account form and stop by one of our hometown financial
centers.
Step 2. Change Automatic Transactions
The Change forms will help you
contact the companies and financial institutions which handle your automatic
deposits and withdrawals. For direct deposits this may include: your
employer’s human resources department; the company handling your retirement
or pension payments; or the Social Security Administration. Don’t forget to
switch any payments you have automatically deducted from your account such
as utilities, insurance or loan payments.
Step 3. Close Old Accounts
Be sure to leave your old accounts
active long enough to allow outstanding checks and automatic withdrawals to
clear. Leave enough money in place to cover these transactions (see Balance
Worksheet). This process
may take several weeks. Double check maturity dates if transferring a
Certificate of Deposit in order to avoid possible penalties. Once you’re
sure that the old accounts are inactive, you can send the
Closed
Old Account form to your previous financial institution to have
remaining funds deposited to your new Ambler Savings Bank account. Then you can destroy your old
checks, ATM/debit cards and deposit slips.
We really want to make your transition to Ambler Savings Bank an easy
one, so contact 1-866-ASB-4550 or 215-646-8400 to assist you
in making the switch if you need help.
Thank You for your Loyalty, Trust and Business!
